October 10, 2007: Arrest Notices 10/2/07 - 10/7/07

Traffic Arrests- On 10/3/07, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1600 block of Sheridan Road for expired registration. The driver, Michael D. Johnson, 26, of Zion was arrested for driving while his license was suspended. Johnson was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date. On 10/4/07, an Officer stopped a vehicle at Sheridan Road and North Park Avenue for speeding. The driver, Jesus Sanchez-Perez, 28, of Kenosha was arrested for having no valid driver's license. Sanchez-Perez was cited for no valid driver's license, speeding, uninsured vehicle, and obstructing justice. Sanchez-Perez was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date. On 10/6/07, an Officer while working contracted services in Wadsworth stopped a vehicle in the 38,000 block of Highway 41 for going 100 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. The driver, Luke J. Hafey, 17, of Zion was arrested for reckless driving. Hafey was cited for speeding, reckless driving, and uninsured vehicle. Hafey was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date. On 10/6/07, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Lewis Avenue for suspended registration. The driver, Warren B. Crockrom, 25, of Racine was arrested for driving while his license was revoked. Crockrom was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date. On 10/4/07, an Officer stopped a vehicle at 14th Street and South Park Avenue for speeding. The driver, Kevin P. Porthouse, 21, of Zion was arrested for DUI. Porthouse was cited for DUI, speeding, uninsured vehicle, driving with a suspended license, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of cannabis. Porthouse was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date. On 10/7/07, an Officer stopped a vehicle at Russell Road and College Avenue for no rear registration light. The driver, Erica L. Berzin, 22, of Winthrop Harbor was arrested for DUI. Berzin was cited for DUI, DUI over .08, and no rear registration light. Berzin was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date. Drug Arrest- On 10/4/07, Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Alton Court for a reckless driver complainant. When Officers arrived they made contact with, Daniel M. Lainio, 18, of Beach Park and Aaron L. Cagle, 18, of Winthrop Harbor. Lainio was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis. Cagle was also arrested and charged with unlawful delivery of cannabis and unlawful possession of cannabis. Both Lainio and Cagle were later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date. Aggravated Battery Arrest- On 10/2/07, an
Officer was dispatched to the 4200 block of 11th Street for a
stolen vehicle complaint. Upon the Officers arrival contact was
made with, Giovanni L. Renteria, 17, of Winthrop Harbor. Renteria
was taken into custody after a short struggle with police. Renteria
was charged with aggravated battery to a Police Officer, resisting,
and obstructing justice. Renteria was later transported to the
Lake County Jail and is currently being held on a $100,000 cash
bond. |
