Traffic Arrests-
On 2/11/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of
Franklin Avenue for improper stopping. The driver, James F. Vepley,
21, of Winthrop Harbor along with the two passenger's, Joshua
D. Varner, 18, of Winthrop Harbor and Matthew L. Swanson, 18,
of Winthrop Harbor were all arrested. Vepley was cited for improper
stopping, unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful possession
of drug paraphernalia, DUI, and DUI over .08. Varner was cited
for unlawful consumption of liquor by a minor and unlawful possession
of cannabis. Swanson was cited for unlawful consumption of liquor
by a minor, unlawful possession of cannabis, and criminal defacement
of property. Swanson also had an outstanding warrant for his
arrest for failure to appear on a DUI charge. Vepley and Varner
were later released on a personal recognizance bonds and given
future court dates. Swanson was transported to the Lake County
Jail for the warrant.
On 2/12/08, Officer's
were dispatched to the area of 9th Street and Sheridan Road for
a report of a vehicle accident and people fighting in the roadway.
Upon the Officer's arrival, Chelsey F. Pilman, 23, of Beach Park
was arrested. Pilman was cited for domestic battery, aggravated
assault (with a vehicle), DUI, DUI over .08, unlawful possession
of cannabis, uninsured vehicle, and obstructed rear license plate.
Pilman was later transported to the Lake County Jail for Bond
Court.
Warrant Arrest-
On 2/11/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1600 block of
Lewis Avenue for a burnt out headlight. The passenger of the
vehicle, Brian M. Whiteside, 37, of Kenosha was arrested for
an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant was for failure
to appear on a driving while suspended charge through the Lake
County Sheriff's Department. Whiteside was later transported
to the Lake County Jail for the warrant.
