Traffic Arrests-
On 2/21/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle at 9th Street and Whitney
Avenue for improper turning. The driver, Ryan K. Mitchell, 19,
of Kenosha was arrested for DUI. Mitchell was cited for improper
turning, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI, DUI
over .08, and no valid driver's license (driving DUI on a WI
instruction permit). Mitchell was later released on a personal
recognizance bond and given a future court.
On 2/22/08, an
Officer stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of Sheridan Road for
suspended registration. The driver, Mauro Nieto-Medina, 43, of
Waukegan was arrested for driving while his license was revoked.
Nieto-Medina was cited for suspended registration and driving
with a revoked license. Nieto-Medina was later released on a
personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.
Battery Arrests-
On 2/21/08, Officers responded to the 1400 block of 1st Street
for a report of an unwanted subject. Upon the Officer's arrival,
Dacoda D. Ashmore, 18, of Winthrop Harbor was arrested for battery.
Ashmore was cited for battery and trespass to a residence. Ashmore
was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given
a future court date.
On 2/24/08, Officers
responded to the 1000 block of Sheridan Road for a report of
a battery. Upon the Officer's arrival, Tiffany M. Fanale, 21,
of Winthrop Harbor was arrested for battery. Fanale was later
released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court
date.
Aggravated Criminal
Sexual Abuse Arrest-
On 2/25/08, the Missouri State Police assisted the Winthrop Harbor
Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit in the arrest of Frank E.
Meier, 67, of Eldon, Missouri. A warrant was obtained by the
Winthrop Harbor Police Department for Meier on 2/19/08 for eight
counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Meier is currently
being held in the Jefferson City County Jail and is being held
on a $500.000 bond.
