PRESS RELEASE


April 7, 2008: Arrest Notices 4/1/08- 4/4/08

Traffic Arrests-
On 4/1/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle at 8th Street and Sheridan Road for a burnt out headlight. The driver, Adam G. Cantrell, 23, of Gilman was arrested for driving while his license was revoked. Cantrell was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

On 4/4/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Lewis Avenue for expired plates. The driver, Connie Mack Powers, 33, of Zion was arrested for driving while her license was suspended. Powers was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

Warrant Arrests-
On 4/1/08, an Officer came in contact with, James F. Vepley, 22, of Winthrop Harbor in the 1000 block of Fulton Avenue. Vepley was arrested a short time later when it was discovered Vepley had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued through the Lake County Sheriff's Department for possession of cannabis. Vepley was later transported to the Lake County Jail for the warrant.

On 4/1/08, an Officer came in contact with an intoxicated man who was staggering in the roadway within the 100 block of Sheridan Road. The pedestrian, Ron J. Spohn, 39, of Saint Charles was arrested for an outstanding warrant. The warrant was issued though the Dane County Sheriff's Department for failing to register as a sex offender. Spohn was later transported to the Lake County Jail for the warrant.

On 4/2/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle at 4th Street and Sheridan Road for expired plates. The passenger of the vehicle, Juan A. Mateo, 29, of Waukegan was arrested for an outstanding warrant. The warrant was issued through the Lake County Sheriff's Department for domestic Battery. Mateo was also cited for obstructing justice and unlawful possession of drug equipment. Mateo was later transport to the Lake County Jail for the warrant.
