PRESS RELEASE


April 15, 2008: Arrest Notices 4/8/08- 4/10/08

Traffic Arrests-
On 4/9/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1700 block of Sheridan Road for having no front license plate. The driver, George Hernandez, 40, of Winthrop Harbor was arrested for driving while his license was revoked. Hernandez also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest through the Lake County Sheriff's Department. The warrant was also for driving with a revoked license. Hernandez was cited for no front plate, driving with a revoked license, and unlawful possession of cannabis. Hernandez was later transported to the Lake County Jail for the warrant.

On 4/10/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Sheridan Road for speeding. The driver, Jesse Aranda, 23, of North Chicago was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis. The passenger of the vehicle, Isarael Saldivar, 22, of Waukegan was also arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis. Aranda and Saldivar were later released on personal recognizance bonds and given future court dates.

Trespassing Arrest-
On 4/8/08, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Kirkwood Avenue for a report of an individual who was trespassing. Upon the Officers arrival, Ryan L. May, 21, of Zion was arrested. May was cited for trespassing and attempted possession of a controlled substance. May was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

Aggravated Battery Arrest-
On 4/10/08, Winthrop Harbor and Zion Police Officers responded to the 1000 block of Franklin Avenue for a report of a stabbing. A short time later Officers arrested, Ryan F. Groh, 20, of Winthrop Harbor. Groh was cited for aggravated battery and aggravated domestic battery. Groh also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for domestic battery. Groh was later transported to the Lake County Jail for Bond Court.
