July 7, 2008: Arrest Notices 6/30/08- 7/6/08

Traffic Arrest-
On 6/30/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Lewis Avenue for a burnt out registration light. The driver, Celia Rayas-Benteno, 25, of Pleasant Prairie was arrested for having no valid driver's license. Rayas-Benteno was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

On 7/2/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of Lewis Avenue for a burnt out registration light. The driver, Jesus Ruiz-Ortiz, 41, of Kenosha was arrested for driving while his license was revoked. Ruiz-Ortiz was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

On 7/5/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1200 block of Sheridan Road for speeding. The driver, Fidel A. Castro, 18, of Waukegan was arrested for driving while his license was revoked. Castro was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

Hit and Run Accident Arrest-
On 7/4/08, Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Roberts Road for a report of a hit and run accident. A short time later, Brandon M. Crane, 20, of Winthrop Harbor was arrested for failing to report an accident to the police. Crane was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, and underage consumption of alcohol. Crane was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle Arrests-
On 7/6/08, an Officer while patrolling in the 300 block of Sheridan Road noticed two individuals acting suspicious. While the Officer was making contact with the two individuals dispatch informed him a burglary to a motor vehicle just occurred in the area. The two individuals, Nicholas D. Guzman, 18, of Zion and Keith A. Ostrander, 19, of Winthrop Harbor were arrested after the Officer discovered the stolen property in their possession. Guzman and Ostrander were both charged with burglary to a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property. Guzman and Ostrander were later transported to the Lake County Jail for Bond Court.
