August 25, 2008: Arrest Notices 8/21/08- 8/23/08

Traffic Arrests-
On 8/21/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Holdridge Avenue for improper lane usage. The driver, Sean M. Hancock, 21, of Winthrop Harbor was arrested for DUI. Hancock was cited for DUI, DUI over .08, unlawful possession of cannabis, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Hancock was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

On 8/22/08, an Officer while working contracted services in Wadsworth stopped a vehicle on Highway 41 for speeding. The driver, Antonio Valencia-Zavala, 20, of North Chicago was arrested after he gave the Officer a false name. Valencia-Zavala was cited for speeding, driving while his license was suspended, and obstructing a peace officer. Valencia-Zavala was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

On 8/23/08, while an Officer was patrolling in the 800 block of Sheridan Road he observed a vehicle squealing its tires. The same vehicle then sped up and passed the squad car. The vehicle then cut into the squad cars lane of traffic cutting of the squad off. The Officer then attempted to stop the vehicle and the vehicle failed to stop until reaching 7th Street just off of Sheridan Road. The driver, Jasper L. Hall, 25, of Zion was arrested for DUI and resisting a peace officer. Hall was also cited for illegal squealing of tires, reckless driving, failing to signal lane change, and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle. Hall was later released on a $1,000 cash bond and was given a future court date.
