PRESS RELEASE


September 23, 2008: Arrest Notices 9/22/08- 9/27/08

Traffic Arrests-
On 9/22/08, an Officer while working contracted services in Wadsworth stopped a truck for an overweight violation on Greenbay Road just South of Route 173. The passenger of the truck, Dustin J. Townsend, 21, of Zion was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. Townsend was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

On 9/22/08, an Officer stopped a truck at 9th Street and Lewis Avenue for an overweight violation. The driver, Carlos J. Hernandez, 22, of Waukegan was arrested for driving while his license was revoked. Hernandez was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

On 9/24/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of 7th street for a burnt out taillight. The driver, Michael R. Thorn, 20, of Waukegan was arrested for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Thorn was later release on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

On 9/26/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of Sheridan Road for improper lane usage. The driver, Jason A. Hayes, 27, of Winthrop Harbor was arrested for DUI. Hayes was also cited for DUI over .08. Hayes was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

On 9/27/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1500 block of Sheridan Road for a seat belt violation. The passenger of the vehicle, Nicole L. Candelaria, 27, of Waukegan was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis. Candelaria was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

Warrant Arrest-
On 9/24/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1400 block of Sheridan Road for failing to use a turn signal. The passenger of the vehicle, Corey D. Long, 19, of Winthrop Harbor was arrested for an outstanding warrant through the Lake County Sheriff's Department. The warrant was for failing to appear for court on a drug charge. Long was later transported to the Lake County Jail for the warrant.
