PRESS RELEASE


October 16, 2008: Arrest Notices 10/10/08- 10/13/08

Traffic Arrests-
On 10/10/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle at Lewis and 9th Street for unlawful use of registration. The driver, Arnulfo Valadez, 34, of Kenosha was arrested for DUI. Valadez was also cited for DUI over .08 BAC. Valadez was later released on a personal recognizance bond and give a future court date.

On 10/12/08, Officers were dispatched to the area of 9th Street and Washington Avenue for a report of a reckless driver. The vehicle was located a short time later in the 600 block of English Lane. The driver, Ryan J. Landburg, 31, of Kenosha was arrested for driving while his license was revoked. Landburg was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

On 10/12/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Lewis Avenue for passing in a no passing zone. The driver, Matthew J. Arnst, 22, of Winthrop Harbor was arrested for driving while his license was suspended. Arnst was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

Drug Arrest-
On 10/10/08, Officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Sheridan Road for a report of someone smoking cannabis. Upon the Officers arrival they came in contact with, Corey D. Long, 19, of Winthrop Harbor. Long was later arrested and cited for unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Long was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

Sex Offender Arrested-
On 10/13/08, Members of the Winthrop Harbor Sex Crimes Unit arrested Charles R. Mooney, 23, of Winthrop Harbor. The Winthrop Harbor Police Department obtained a warrant for Mooney's arrest when he failed to inform the Police Department of his internet communications. Mooney was later transported to the Lake County Jail for the warrant.
