Traffic Arrests-
On 1/1/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle at 5th Street and Whitney
Avenue for having no taillights. The driver, Carlos Valencia,
39, of Winthrop Harbor was arrested for not having a valid driver's
license. Valencia was later released on a personal recognizance
bond and given a future court date.
On 1/1/09, an
Officer stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Sheridan Road for
improper lane usage. The driver, Mario M. Chagoya, 22, of Watertown,
WI was arrested for DUI. Chagoya was also cited for DUI over
.08 (BAC .126). Chagoya was later released on a personal recognizance
bond and given a future court date.
Warrant Arrest-
On 12/29/08, an Officer stopped a vehicle at 9th Street and Monroe
Avenue for speeding. The driver, Thomas E. Geer, 57, of Antioch
was arrested after the Officer discovered Geer had an outstanding
warrant for his arrest. The warrant was through the Lake County
Sheriff's Department for failing to appear on a deceptive practices
case. Geer was later transported to the Lake County Jail for
the warrant.
Domestic Battery Arrest-
On 1/1/09, Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of 6th
Street for a report of a domestic battery. Upon the Officer's
arrival, Tyler J. Garbett, 18, of Winthrop Harbor was arrested
and charged with domestic battery. Garbett was later transported
to the Lake County Jail for Bond Court.
