February 17, 2009: Arrest Notices 2/7/09 - 2/15/09

Residential Burglary Arrest:
On November 6, 2008 officers took a report of a residential burglary that occurred within the 1500 block of 7th Street. After a three month long investigation, and with the assistance of the Lake County States Attorney's Office, detectives subsequently arrested Corey D. Long, 19, Joshua D. Varner, 19, and Matthew L. Swanson 19, of Winthrop Harbor, and were each charged for Residential Burglary. All above listed subjects were later turned over to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

Deceptive Practice Arrest:
On 02/12/09, officers were dispatch to a local business for a report of deceptive practice complaint. After further investigation and review of the facts of this incident with the Lake County States Attorney's Office, officers arrested Christopher R. Nord, 24, of Lindenhurst, and he was charged with Deceptive Practice. Nord was later transported and turned over to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

Disorderly Conduct Arrest:
On 02/11/09, officers received a complaint from an employee at a local tavern of a subject harassing and displaying lewd photographs taken from his cellular telephone. Upon further investigation, detectives arrested Anthony J. Dembrowski, 29, of Winthrop Harbor, who was charged with Disorderly Conduct. Dembrowski was later released by a notice to appear pending a future court date.

Traffic Arrests-
On 02/07/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of Landon Avenue for an improper turn at an intersection. The driver, Kilanee S. Wells, 26, of Waukegan was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC over .08, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Cocaine). Wells was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

On 02/10/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 500 block of Lewis Avenue for expired registration. The driver, Charles D. Shelley, 36, of Zion was arrested for Driving While License Revoked. Shelley was later released on a notice to appear and given a future court date.

On 02/14/09, Officers were dispatched near the area of 13th Street and West Broadway for a report of a property damage accident. Upon there arrival they arrested, Kelsey L. Larsen, 18, of Winthrop Harbor was arrested for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Driving While License Suspended, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Shelley was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

On 02/15/09, an officer was checking on a suspicious vehicle at a local business and arrested, Patrick J. Stahl, 49, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. Stahl was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Obstructing a Peace Officer. Stahl was later released on a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.

On 02/15/09, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Sheridan Road for a report of a subject using his motor vehicle to ram a parked car. Upon arrival, officers arrested Richard J. Latorra, 37, of Winthrop Harbor. Latorra was charged with Reckless Driving and Driving Under the Influence of Drug and Alcohol. Latorra was later released by a personal recognizance bond and given a future court date.
