Drug Paraphernalia: Traffic Arrests: On 03/19/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of Sheridan Road for loud exhaust. The driver, Jake R. Chopp, 19, of Salem, Wisconsin was arrested for Defective Exhaust, Suspended Registration, and Driving While License Suspended. Chopp was later released on a notice to appear pending a future court date. On 03/21/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle at the intersection of 9th Street and Kenosha Road for a stop sign violation. The driver, Adalia S. Velasco, 54, of Shererville, Indiana was subsequently taken into custody for suspicion of DUI after failing field sobriety tests. During an incident to arrest search of the motor vehicle, the officer located a knife and a small amount of purported cannabis in the ash tray. Velasco was charged with Disobeying a Stop Sign, No Insurance, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Velasco was later released by a personal recognizance bond pending a future court date. On 03/21/09, an officer stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Sheridan Road for driving off the roadway. The driver, John K. Penning, 34, of Winthrop Harbor, was arrested for Aggravated DUI, Felony Enhanced Driving While License Revoked, Disorderly Conduct, and Criminal Damage to Property. Penning was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing. On 03/21/09, an officer stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Sheridan Road for speeding. The driver, Victor Montes (AKA: Roberto Esquivel) 40, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, was arrested for Speeding, Driving While License Revoked, and Attempted Obstruction of Justice. The officer later learned Montes had two Lake County Arrest Warrants. Montes was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing. On 03/22/09,
an officer stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Sheridan Road
for improper lane usage. The driver, Jeremy P. Manning, 26, of
Winthrop Harbor, was arrested for Improper Lane Usage, Driving
Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence
of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Manning was later released
by a personal recognizance bond pending a future court date. |
