PRESS RELEASE


March 29, 2009: Arrest Notices 3/24/09 - 3/26/09

Traffic Arrests:

On 03/24/09, an Officer observed a vehicle in the 3100 block of 9th Street was stopped on the shoulder of the road. The driver, Ricardo Contreras, 45, of Crystal Lake was arrested for providing the officer a fictitious name when asked for identification. After the Officer learned of Contreras' identity; Contreras was charged with Driving While License Revoked, Obstruction of Justice, and No Proof of Vehicle Insurance. Contreras also had an active warrant for his arrest for failure to appear on a previous DUI case that had been pending adjudication. Contreras was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

On 03/25/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Lewis Avenue for Obstructed View. The driver, Michael R. Moffa, 42, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was arrested for Obstructed View and Driving While License Suspended. Moffa was later released on scene by an Individual Bond pending a future court date.

On 03/26/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle on 12th Street and Sheridan Road for Improper Lane Usage and No Valid Registration. The driver, John A. Bloom, 35, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Bloom was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08, Driving While License Revoked, Improper Lane Usage, No Valid Registration, and Failure to Wear a Seat Belt. Bloom was later released by a personal recognizance bond pending a future court date.

 

Warrant Arrest:

On 03/26/09, officer's conducted a warrant service at the 3000 block of 9th Street. Teresa D. Copeland, 42, of Winthrop Harbor was taken into custody after Officer's confirmed Copeland had two active Lake County arrest warrants. Copeland was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.
