PRESS RELEASE


April 12, 2009: Arrest Notices 4/6/09 - 4/12/09

Domestic Battery:

On 04/07/09, Officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of 11th Street for a report of a domestic battery. After Officers arrived at the residence, they observed signs consistent with a battery and arrested Michael J. Laffredi, 23, of Winthrop Harbor. After an Officer reviewed the facts of the case with the Lake County States Attorney's Office; Laffredi was charged with Domestic Battery. Laffredi was later transported to the Lake County jail pending a bond hearing.

Traffic Arrests:

On 04/06/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 9th Street and Kenosha Road for improper lane usage. The driver, Samuel T. Humphrey, 25, of Zion was arrested after he failed field sobriety tests. Humphrey was charged with Improper Lane Usage, No Proof of Vehicle Insurance, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over .08. Humphrey was later released by an Individual Bond pending a future court date.

On 04/08/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Sheridan Road for Speeding. The driver, Jesus Ramirez-Peralta, 23, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was arrested for Speeding and No Valid Driver's License. Ramirez-Peralta was later released by a cash bond pending a future court date.

On 04/11/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of East Broadway for Improper Lane Usage. The driver, Christopher J. Fergen, 19, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. During a search of the motor vehicle, the officer located a glass cannabis pipe. Fergen was arrested for Improper Lane Usage, Operation of an Uninsured Vehicle, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Fergen was later released by a personal recognizance bond pending a future court date.

On 04/11/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 9th Street and Lewis Avenue for Improper Lane Usage. The driver, Willie S. Beatty, 36, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Beatty was arrested for Improper Lane Usage, No Driver's License on Person, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Beatty was later released by an Individual bond pending a future court date.

On 04/12/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1000 block of Sheridan Road for Speeding and Improper Lane Usage. The driver, John C. Bradshaw, 60, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Bradshaw was arrested for Speeding, Improper Lane Usage, No Proof of Vehicle Insurance, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Bradshaw was later released by a personal Recognizance Bond pending a future court date.
