May 3, 2009: Arrest Notices 4/29/09 - 5/2/09

Criminal Trespass Arrest:

On 04/29/09, Officers were dispatched to the Marathon Gas Station, 901 Sheridan Road for a criminal trespass complaint. After Officers arrived on location, they observed a male subject who was previously advised not to be on the property due to a prior retail theft incident/arrest. The offender, Romell L. Allen, 37, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently arrested and charged with Retail Theft. Romell was released on scene by a notice to appear pending a future court date.

Traffic Arrests:

On 04/28/09, an Officer working a Wadsworth traffic detail stopped a vehicle near the intersection of U.S. Route 41 and Illinois Route 173 for an equipment violation. The driver, Richard J. Young, 30, of Lake Zurich was subsequently arrested after the officer learned Young had a revoked driver's license. The officer then identified the front seat passenger, Joseph W. Kasza, 26, of Round Lake Beach. A warrant check was conducted by the officer and learned Kasza had three active in-state warrants. Young and Kasza were subsequently taken into custody. An incident to arrest search was conducted by the officer which revealed a small amount of cannabis located inside Kasza's shoe. Young was charged with No Taillights and Driving While License Revoked. Young was later released by an individual bond pending a future court date. Kasza was charged with Possession of Cannabis Kasza was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing..

On 05/02/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Sheridan Road for a seat belt violation. After the officer made contact with the driver, he observed there were two juveniles not secured in safety belts. The driver, Danny L. Martin, 42, of Racine, Wisconsin was subsequently arrested for Failure to Wear Seatbelt, Failure to Secure Child under Age 16 in Safety Belt (Two Counts), and Driving While License Revoked. Martin was later released by a cash bond pending a future court date.
