Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child Arrest: For the last couple of weeks, The Winthrop Harbor Police Department conducted a joint investigation with the assistance of The Department of Children and Family Service with the arrest of Cameron B. Flint with one count of Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, a class X felony. The Winthrop Harbor Police Department charged 33 year old, Cameron B. Flint, 3000 block of Elisha Avenue, Zion after a female child reported this sexual assault with school officials and The Department of Children and Family Services was then immediately contacted. After DCFS met with the female victim, they learned the sexual assault occurred in the Village of Winthrop Harbor while the child had been under the care of Cameron Flint; who was the step father of the victim at the time of this incident. The young female child was age 8 ½ at the time of this reported sexual assault. A victim Sensitive Interview (VSI) was later conducted at the Children's Hospital in Kenosha, by DCFS and The Winthrop Harbor Police Department. After The Winthrop Harbor Police Department concluded their investigation, this case was reviewed by Assistant Lake County States Attorneys Stephen Scheller and Marc Bangser. Cameron B. Flint was later arrested after detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest. Cameron Flint
was later arrested at The Winthrop Harbor Police Department.
During further investigation, a search was conducted of Cameron
Flint's personal computer which revealed video files consistent
with child pornography. Additional charges are expected. Cameron
Flint was later transported to the Lake County Jail and his bond
was set at one million dollars. |
