Assault Arrest: On 10/16/09, an Officer's were dispatched to the 1400 block of Sheridan Road for a domestic disturbance. The suspect, Larry W. Nipple, 40, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after the officer learned Nipple removed the phone cord to prevent his girlfriend from calling "911." After this incident was reviewed by the Lake County States Attorney's Office, Nipple was charged with Assault. Nipple was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing. Traffic Arrests: On 10/09/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 500 block of Sheridan Road for obstructed registration. The driver, Andre D. Boose, 33, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after the officer learned Boose's driver's license had been revoked in the State of Illinois. Boose was issued a verbal warning for Obstructed Registration. Boose was charged with Operation of an Uninsured Vehicle and Driving While License Revoked. Boose was later released by a personal recognizance bond pending a future court date. On 10/10/09, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1100 block of Sheridan Road for no headlights. The driver, Dion L. Hardeman, 32, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety testing. A clear plastic bag of a green leafy substance purported to be cannabis was located in plain view by the officer. The officer further learned Hardeman had an active in-state warrant for his arrest. Hardeman was issued a verbal warning for No Headlights. Hardeman was charged with Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Driving While License Suspended, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Hardeman was released (WHPD charges) by a personal recognizance bond pending a future court date. Hardeman was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing for his active arrest warrant. On 10/15/09,
an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Sheridan
Road and 9th Street for improper lane usage and failure to signal
when required. The driver, Amy M. Mercadillo, 20, of Kenosha,
Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after Mercadillo
failed field sobriety testing. Mercadillo was charged with Improper
Lane Usage, Failure to Signal When Required, Operation of an
Uninsured Vehicle, and Unlawful Consumption of Liquor by Minor.
Mercadillo was later released by a personal recognizance bond
pending a future court date. |
