Residential Burglary and Burglary to Motor Vehicle Arrests: For the last several weeks, the Winthrop Harbor Police Department received an increase in Residential and Motor Vehicle Burglaries that had been occurring within our jurisdiction. These previous burglary investigations were subsequently turned over the Winthrop Harbor Police Department detectives , who identified possible suspects and conducted field interviews, resulting in the arrests of Billy R. Morrow,18,18000 block of Glenhurst, Lake Villa, Reginald R. Jackola,18,1000 block of Franklin Avenue, and Evan M. Demarr,18, 2000 block of Elim Avenue, Zion. A search was later conducted at Demarr's residence, which resulted in the seizure of numerous items which had been taken from previous police reported burglaries. Later it was learned from recovered articles and interviews that Morrow and Demarr committed additional residential and motor vehicle burglaries in the other jurisdictions within the Lake County area. Winthrop Harbor Detectives therefore contacted the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Zion Police Department, and Gurnee Police Department to assist with those investigations Jackola was charged with Residential Burglary (Class 1 Felony) and Theft over $300 USD (Class 3 Felony). Morrow and Demar were charged with five counts of Burglary to Motor Vehicle (Class 3 Felony). Additional charges are expected after further review with the Lake County States Attorney's Office. incidents of burglary to motor vehicles. |
