February 17, 2010: Arrest Notices 2/6/10 - 2/14/10

Warrant Arrest:

On 02/14/2010, a female came into the Winthrop Harbor Police Department lobby to turn herself in for an active warrant for her arrest. The suspect, Deena L. Nation, 30, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after the officer confirmed Nation had an active Wisconsin Department of Corrections warrant for her arrest. Nation was charged for Fugitive from Justice. Nation was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

Failure to Register as a Sex Offender:

On 02/16/2010, a male came into the Winthrop Harbor Police Department lobby to turn himself in for failing to register as a sex offender. The suspect, Charles R. Mooney, 24, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after the officer confirmed Mooney had failed to register as a sex offender. The facts of this case were later reviewed by the Lake County States Attorney's Office. Mooney was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (Class 2 Felony). Mooney was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

Traffic Arrests:

On 02/06/2010, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 300 block of Sheridan Road for speeding. The driver, Jose A. Rodriguez, 24, of Racine, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after Rodriguez failed field sobriety testing. The officer further ran Rodriguez's drivers license information through Wisconsin Department of Transportation and learned Rodriguez did not have a valid driver's license. Rodriguez was charged with Speeding, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, No Valid Driver's License, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over .08. Rodriguez was later released by an individual bond pending a future court date.

On 02/07/2010, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 11th Street and Sheridan Road for not having a rear registration light. The driver, Ross K. Hagberg, 23, of Centennial, Colorado was subsequently taken into custody after failed field sobriety testing. During a tow inventory search, the officer located a small amount of suspected cannabis in the ashtray. Hagberg was charged with No Rear Registration Light, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over .08. Hagberg was later released by a signature bond pending a future court date

On 02/12/2010, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 800 block of Sheridan Road for failure to signal when required. The driver, Steven J. Kramer, 22, of Antioch was subsequently taken into custody after failed field sobriety testing. Kramer was charged with Failure to Signal when Required, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over .08. Kramer was later released by an individual bond pending a future court date
