January 4, 2011: Arrest Notices 12/15/10 - 1/1/11

Traffic Arrests:

On 12/15/2010, an Officer made contact with a motorist assist within the 800 block of Sheridan Road. The driver, Amber M. Frost, 24, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Frost was charged with Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Driving While License Suspended, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Frost was later released by an Individual bond pending a future court date.

On 12/19/2010, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1400 block of Lewis Avenue for improper lane usage. The driver, Antoinette Slater, 47, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified her driver's license was suspended. Slater was charged with Improper Lane Usage, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving While License Suspended. Slater was later released by her signature pending a future court date.

On 12/19/2010, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 13th Street and South Park Avenue for a stop sign violation. The driver, Scott A. Houchin, 42, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified his driver's license was suspended. Houchin was charged with Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving While License Suspended. Houchin was later released by his signature pending a future court date.

On 12/19/2010, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 17th Street and Sheridan Road for improper lane usage. The driver, Richard A. McGillivry, 67, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. McGillivry was charged with Improper Lane Usage and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. McGillivry was later released by his signature pending a future court date.

On 12/21/2010, an officer stopped a vehicle within the 300 block of Sheridan Road for speeding. The driver, Heidi A. Treffert, 30, of Racine, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified Treffert's driver's license was suspended . Treffert was charged with Speeding, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, and Driving While License Suspended. Treffert was later released by her signature pending a future court date.

On 12/23/2010, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 800 block of Sheridan Road for an equipment violation. The driver, Anthony M. James, 19, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified his driver's license was suspended. A search of the motor vehicle was conducted by the Officer which revealed a small amount of cannabis near the front driver's seat. James was charged with No Rear Registration Light, Driving While License Suspended, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis. James was later released by his signature pending a future court date.

On 12/27/2010, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 11th Street and Sheridan Road for a seat belt violation. The driver, Russell T. Shales, 21, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified his driver's license was suspended. Shales was charged with Failure to Wear Seat Belt and Driving While License Suspended. Shales was later released by his signature pending a future court date.

On 12/29/2010, an officer stopped a vehicle within the 1200 block of Sheridan Road for a seat belt violation. The driver, Adam G. Helmick, 23, of Winthrop Harbor was taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Helmick was charged with Failure to Wear Seat Belt , Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving Under the Influence of Drugs. Helmick was released by his signature pending a future court date.

On 01/01/2011, an officer stopped a vehicle within the 600 block of Sheridan Road for an equipment violation.. The driver, Ruben Urista-Delrio, 22, of Racine, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified Urista-Delrio's driver's license was suspended. Urista-Delrio was charged with Failure to Dim Headlights, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving While License Suspended. Urista-Delrio was later released by his signature pending a future court date.
