On 03/26/2011, Officers were dispatched near the intersection of 7th Street and Sheridan Road for a three motor vehicle property damage traffic accident. The driver of the motor vehicle at fault, Bryan D. Leonard, 34, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. A search of Leonard's person revealed a clear plastic bag containing purported cannabis and rolling papers. Leonard was charged with Improper Lane Usage, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over .08, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Leonard was later released by an individual bond pending a future court date.
On 03/26/2011, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1100 block of Sheridan Road for a registration violation. The driver, Timothy T. Rachel, 24, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the officer verified Rachel had a revoked Wisconsin Driver's License. Rachel was charged with Operation of Motor Vehicle while Registration was Suspended, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving While License Revoked. Rachel was later released by a notice to appear pending a future branch court date.
On 03/27/2011, an Officer was dispatched to North Point Marina to locate a motor vehicle that was involved in a traffic accident. The Officer later located the motor vehicle and further observed the motor vehicle was backed into a chain linked fence and was left abandoned. Shortly thereafter, the driver, Charlana S. Jackson, 32, of Hamtramck, Michigan voluntarily came into The Winthrop Harbor Police Department and was subsequently charged with Driving While License Suspended. Jackson was later released by a notice to appear pending a future branch court date.
Unlawful Possession of Cannabis:
On 03/27/2011, Officers was dispatched to a local tavern regarding a disorderly and intoxicated subject, Duke L. Nelson, 53, of Winthrop Harbor. After the Officer conducted a search of Nelson's person; two clear plastic bags of purported cannabis and rolling paper were seized. Nelson was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Nelson was later released by a notice to appear pending a future court date.

ravine. The Officer collected the empty jewelry boxes and submitted
them into evidence.
