PRESS RELEASE


April 26, 2011: Arrest Notices 4/20/11 - 4/21/11

Traffic Arrests:

On 04/20/2011, an Officer was dispatched by a motorist to report a possible intoxicated driver. The Officer located and stopped the suspected motor vehicle within the 500 block of North Avenue. The driver, Jamie A. Bucher, 35, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. A search of the motor vehicle resulted in the subsequent seizure of numerous scheduled prescription medications that was not prescribed to Bucher. Bucher was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bucher was later transported to The Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

On 04/23/2011, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 300 block of Sheridan Road for speeding. The driver, Douglas M. Okeefe, 28, of Salem, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer conducted a search of the motor vehicle which resulted in the seizures of a small bag of cannabis, a cannabis smoking pipe, and urine specimen bottles. Okeefe was charged with Speeding, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Attempted Defrauding a Drug Screening Test. Okeefe was later transported to The Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

On 04/24/2011, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 7th Street and Sheridan Road for following too closely. The driver, Shune B. Kibble, 28, of Waukegan, was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed Kibble had a revoked driver's license and an active in-state warrant. Kibble was charged with Following Too Closely, Failure to Wear Safety Belt, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving While License Revoked. Kibble was later transported to The Lake Jail for the warrant.

Warrant Arrests:

On 04/21/2011, an Officer was made contact with a subject, John R. Rymer, 44, of Anderson, Indiana within the 800 block of Thompson Avenue. Rymer was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed there was an active warrant for his arrest. Rymer was later transported to The Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

On 04/21/2011, an Officer was dispatched within the 1400 block of 11th Street reference to an animal complaint. The subject, John S. Hayes, 46, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed he had an active in-state warrant for his arrest. Hayes was later transported to The Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.
