October 18, 2011: Arrest Notices 10/12/11 - 10/15/11

Traffic Arrest(s):

On 10/12/2011, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 600 block of Sheridan Road for a registration violation. The driver, Michael A. Charleston, 44, of Kenosha was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed he had a revoked Illinois Driver's License. A search of the motor vehicle was conducted by the Officer and an open alcohol container was located. Charleston was charged with Operation of Motor Vehicle while Registration Suspended, Expired Registration, Improper Use of Registration, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving While License Revoked. Charleston was released by his signature pending a further branch court date.

On 10/14/2011, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 4th Street and Sheridan Road for loud music. The driver, Bianca H. Simmons, 32, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed her driver's license was suspended. Simmons was issued a verbal warning for loud music. Simmons was issued a citation for Driving While license Suspended. Simmons was released on scene by her signature pending a further branch court date.

On 10/15/2011, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Russell Road and Sheridan Road for a registration violation. The driver, Azzure M. Simpson, 26, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified she didn't have a valid driver's license. The Officer further observed there were four small children not secured in child restraint seats. Simpson was issued citations for Suspended Registration, Failure to Secure Child in Child Restraint Seats (4 counts), Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and No Valid Driver's License. Simpson was released on scene by her signature pending a future branch court date.

Aggravated Assault:

On 10/15/2011, Officers were dispatch to the lobby at the Winthrop Harbor Police Department for a delayed report of a domestic disturbance. The complainant advised the subject, Aaron W. Routt, 29, of Winthrop Harbor, was destroying property inside his home. The complaint further advised Routt displayed a knife and advised he was going to kill the complainant. Shortly thereafter, Officers subsequently took Routt in custody within the 700 block of Roberts Road. This case was later screen by the Lake County States Attorney's Office and Routt was charged with Aggravated Assault. Routt was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.
