PRESS RELEASE


October 25, 2011: Arrest Notices 10/20/11 - 10/23/11

Traffic Arrest(s):

On 10/20/2011, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 9th Street and Sheridan Road for a registration violation. The driver, Stephanie T. Martinez, 23, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed her Wisconsin Driver's License was suspended. Martinez was charged with Operation of Motor Vehicle while Registration Suspended and Driving While License Suspended. Martinez was released on scene by her signature pending a further branch court date.

On 10/22/2011, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 7th Street and Sheridan Road for a lane violation. The driver, Juan M. Garcia, 35, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Garcia was charged with Improper Lane Usage, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Garcia was additionally charged with Obstruction of Justice after Officers learned Garcia provided a fictitious date of birth at time of arrest and had an active in-state warrant for his arrest. Garcia was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

On 10/22/2011, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1600 block of Sheridan Road for loud exhaust. The driver, Franco Saldivar-Donoe, 36, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed his driver's license was suspended. Saldivar-Donoe was charged with Loud Exhaust, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving While License Suspended. Saldivar-Donoe was released on scene by his signature pending a further branch court date.

Domestic Battery:

On 10/23/2011, Officers were dispatched within the 600 block of Sheridan Road for a domestic battery in progress. After Officers arrived on location they made contact with the complainant and the suspect, Touquir A. Samra, 32, of Winthrop Harbor. The facts of the investigation were screened by the Lake County States Attorney's Office and Samra was subsequently taken into custody for Domestic Battery. Samara was issued a citation for Domestic Battery and later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.
