January 3, 2012: Aggravated Battery With Firearm Arrest

Aggravated Battery with a Firearm Arrest-

On January 1, 2012 at approximately 2:46 am, Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Lewis Avenue for a report of shots fired. Officers from the Zion Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff's Office also responded. Once officers arrived on scene it was discovered that a 21 year old male subject had suffered a gunshot wound to the neck, and the offender had already fled the scene. The victim was transported to Vista East Medical Center and was released later in the day.

A short time later Jeremaih A. Lee, 20 of Zion, and Keri L. May, 18 of Zion were taken into custody. Lee was later charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm (Class X felony), Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm (Class 1 felony) and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Firearm (Class 4 felony). May was charged with Obstructing Justice (Class 4 felony). Both Lee and May were transported to the Lake County Jail were they were being held on bond.
