PRESS RELEASE


February 6, 2012: Arrest Notices 1/28/12 - 2/4/12

Traffic Arrest(s):

On 01/28/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 300 block of Sheridan Road for speeding. The driver, Reniya E. Atkinson, 20, of North Chicago was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified her Illinois Driver's License was suspended. Atkinson later failed field sobriety tests and a small amount of cannabis was subsequently located in her purse. Atkinson was charged with Speeding, Driving While License Suspended, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, and Driving Under the Influence of Drugs. Atkinson was later released by a Notice to appear pending a future court date.

On 01/29/2012, an Officer made contact with a male juvenile occupant walking near the intersection of 11th Street and East Broadway Avenue. The subject, a 16 year old juvenile, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody for violation of curfew. The 16 year old juvenile was referred to teen court and turned over to his mother.

On 01/29/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1400 block of Sheridan Road for an equipment violation. The driver, Antonio Diaz, 63, of Waukegan was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified he didn't have a valid driver's license. Diaz was charged with Improper Lighting - One Headlight and No Valid Driver's License. Diaz was later released by a Notice to appear pending a future branch court date.

On 02/04/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 500 block of Sheridan Road for an equipment violation. The driver, Henry Dominguez, 26, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified he didn't have a valid driver's license. Dominguez was charged with Improper Lighting - One Headlight and No Valid Driver's License. Dominguez was later released by a Notice to appear pending a future branch court date.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle:

On 02/01/2012, an Officer was dispatched within the 1100 block of Sheridan Road regarding a burglary to motor vehicle report. The complainant advised some unknown person(s) entered a GMC Envoy without consent and subsequently took a purse containing identification cards and medical cards.
