PRESS RELEASE


March 26, 2012: Arrest Notices 3/14/12 - 3/22/12

Traffic Arrest(s):

On 03/17/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 600 block of Sheridan Road for loud exhaust and improper lane usage. The driver, Jerry D. Johnson, 29, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Johnson was issued citations for Improper Lane Usage, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Johnson was later released by a notice to appear pending a future court date.

On 03/20/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 600 block of Kenosha Road for Speeding. The driver, Miguel A. Rivera, 31, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed his driver's license was suspended. Rivera was issued citations for Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Driving While License Suspended. Rivera was later released by his signature pending a further branch court date.

On 03/22/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 9th Street and Russell Avenue for a registration violation. The driver, Ezzit C. Williams, 34, of North Chicago was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed his driver's license was suspended. Williams was issued citations for Speeding and Driving While License Suspended. Williams was later released by his signature pending a further branch court date.

 

Warrant Arrest:

On 03/14/2012, an Officer recognized a subject believed to have an active in-state warrant for his arrest within the 1000 block of Sheridan Road. The suspect, Bryan J. Berg, 27, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed the warrant with the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Berg was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

Criminal Damage to Property:

On 03/20/2012, an Officer was dispatched within the 800 block of Thompson Avenue for a Criminal Damage to Property report. The complainant advised some unknown person(s) placed graffiti on their garage door. Photographs were taken by the Officer and this incident is pending further investigation.
