On 05/12/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 300 block of Sheridan Road for a registration violation. The driver, Glen W. Morrison, 28, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Morrison was issued citations for Operation of Motor Vehicle While Registration Suspended, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Morrison was later released by a personal recognizance Bond pending a future court date.
On 05/14/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 100 block of Sheridan Road for not having a front bumper on the motor vehicle. The driver, Paul M. Banta, 24, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Banta was issued citations for No Bumper No Front Registration Plate, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Banta was later released by his signature pending a future court date.
Aggravated Battery to a Child and Aggravated Domestic Battery:
On 05/11/2012, The Winthrop Harbor Police Department was contacted by a staff member from Westfield School to report a ten year old child had visible injuries to her head. The child was immediately taken to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries and was later interviewed by the Lake County Child Advocacy Center. After further investigation and interviews conducted by detectives resulted in the subsequent arrest of Connie S. Neeley, 42, of Winthrop Harbor. This facts of this investigation was screened by the Lake County States Attorney's Office. Neeley was charged with Aggravated Battery to a Child and Aggravated Domestic Battery. Neeley was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing. Department of Children and Family Services also were contacted and assisted with the investigation.
On 05/13/2012, members of the Winthrop Harbor Police Department were dispatched within the 1000 block of Mary Avenue regarding a residential burglary report. Officers observed the rear exterior door window showed signs of forced entry. The complaint further advised a 27 inch LCD television, X box, Dell Laptop, Tin Coffee Container (containing coins) and Apple iPod was taken from his residence without his consent. This case is pending investigation.

On 05/09/2012, The Winthrop Harbor Police Department conducted Tobacco Compliance Checks with the below listed business establishments utilizing a 17 year old volunteer. All of the below listed businesses passed and refused to sell the tobacco product to the volunteer.
