June 18, 2012: Arrest Notices 6/6/12 - 6/16/12

Traffic Arrest(s):

On 06/06/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1100 block of Lewis Avenue for use of cellular telephone in a construction zone. The driver, Christopher S. Pritchett, 42, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the officer confirmed his Wisconsin Driver's License was suspended. Pritchett was later issued citations for Use of Cellular Telephone in a Construction Zone, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving While License Suspended. Pritchett was later released by his signature pending a future branch court date.

On 06/08/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1900 block of Russell Road for Speeding. The driver, Nathan J. Steele, 37, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed he had an active in-state warrant for his arrest. Steele was later transported to the Lake County pending a bond hearing.

On 06/08/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1100 block of Sheridan Road for an equipment violation. The driver, Brandon T. Pettijohn, 28, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified his Illinois Driver's License was suspended. Pettijohn was issued citations for Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Driving While License Suspended. Pettijohn was released on scene by a notice to appear pending a future branch court date.

On 06/10/2012, members of the Winthrop Harbor Police Department were dispatched near the intersection of 9th Street and Lewis Avenue for a hit and run property damage accident. After Officers arrived on scene a witness provided the police officers with a detailed description and license plate information of the offending motor vehicle involved in the traffic accident. The Officer's later located and stopped the offending vehicle near the intersection of 116th Street and 39th Avenue, Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. The driver, Kwame Z. Crawford, 38 of Racine, Wisconsin, was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. The facts of this case were later screened by the Lake County States Attorney's Office. Crawford was issued citations for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Driving While License Revoked (felony enhanced), and Aggravated DUI. Crawford was later transported to the Kenosha County jail pending an extradition hearing.

On 06/13/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 400 block of Lewis Avenue for a seat belt violation. The driver, Ramon R. McKelvy, 36, of Beach Park was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified his Wisconsin Driver's License was revoked. McKelvy was later issued citations for Failure to Wear Seatbelt and Driving While License Revoked. McKelvy was later released by his signature pending a future branch court date.

On 06/15/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 900 block of Sheridan Road for speeding. The driver, Moniquea R. Leahy, 34, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified her Wisconsin Driver's License was currently revoked. Leahy was later issued citations for Speeding and Driving While License Revoked. Leahy was later released by her signature pending a future branch court date.

On 06/16/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1300 block of Sheridan Road for speeding. The driver, Carolyn A. Boyles, 42, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Boyles was later issued citations for Speeding and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Boyles was later released by a personal recognizance bond pending a future court date.

Public Intoxication:

On 06/16/2012, an Officer made contact with an intoxicated subject within the 800 block of Sheridan Road. The subject, Travis R. Ponce, 25, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody for public intoxication. Ponce was issued a local ordnance citation for public intoxication. Ponce was later released and given copies of his citations.
