July 16, 2012: Arrest Notices 7/10/12 - 7/14/12

Traffic Arrests:

On 07/14/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 700 block of Sheridan Road for Speeding. The driver, Ian T. Herrera, 22, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Herrera was charged with Speeding, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over .08. Herrera was later released by his signature pending a future court date.

On 07/15/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 9th Street and Monroe Avenue for Speeding. The driver, Jillian R. Ware, 20, of Beach Park was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety testing. Ware was charged with Speeding, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Ware was later released by her signature pending a future court date.

On 07/15/2012 an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 200 block of Sheridan Road for Speeding. The driver, Maurice T. Friar ,31, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Friar was charged with Speeding, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Friar was later released by his signature pending a future court date.

Theft of Bicycle:

On 07/10/2012, an Officer was dispatched to the lobby at the Winthrop Harbor Police Department for a Theft of Bicycle report. The complainant advised some unknown subject(s) took his red Haro from his yard at his residence which was reported to be located within the 700 block of Thompson Avenue. The complainant further advised the bicycle was registered in the Village of Winthrop Harbor and was assigned registration number "5040." This incident is pending further investigation.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle:

On 07/11/2012, an Officer was dispatched within the 2100 block of 11th Street regarding a burglary to motor vehicle report. The complainant advised some unknown subject(s) entered her gray, 2011 Toyota Camry without consent. The complaintant further advised a Garmin GPS, model 1450, serial # 23F626348 was taken from her motor vehicle during the commission of the burglary. The complaiant estimated the cost of the GPS at $125.98 USD. This case is pending further investigation.

On 07/12/2012, an Officer was dispatched within the 2200 block of 10th Street regarding a burglary to motor vehicle report. The complainant advised some unknown subject(s) entered her blue Chrysler mini van without her consent. The complaintant further advised prescription medication and approximately $25.00 USD was taken from the burglary. This case is pending further investigation.
