On 08/03/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 800 block of Sheridan Road for lane and equipment violations. The driver, Arlester Farmer, 51, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed his Illinois Driver's License was Revoked. A search was conducted by the Officer which resulted in the seizure of several non-prescribed scheduled medications, several plastic bags of cannabis, and miscellaneous items of drug paraphernalia. After reviewing the facts of this investigation with the Lake County States Attorney's Office, Farmer was charged for Cracked Tail light, Improper Lane Usage, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While License Revoked, and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. Farmer was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.
On 08/04/2012/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 800 block of Sheridan Road for multiple lane violations. The driver, Edward J. Miszkiewicz, 57, of Des Plaines was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety testing. A small 11 year old child was also present inside the motor vehicle Miszkiewicz had been operating. A search was later conducted by the Officer and a small amount of cannabis had been located inside of Miszkiewicz's wallet. Miszkiewicz was charged with Improper Lane Usage, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Child Endangerment. Miszkiewicz was later released by a notice to appear pending a future court date.
On 08/06/2012, Members of the The Winthrop Harbor Police Department were dispatched within the 1200 block of Sheridan Road related to a motor vehicle that had crashed into a building at a high rate of speed. The driver, Kevin T. Stites, 20, of Winthrop Harbor was later located near the vicinity of his residence and was subsequently taken into custody. Stites was transported to the Winthrop Harbor Police Department for processing. Stites was issued citations for Improper Lane Usage, Speeding, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Stites was later released by his signature pending a future court date.
On 08/06/2012/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1900 block of 9th Street for Speeding. The driver, Bobbie G. Carter, 42, of Waukegan was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer learned his Illinois Driver's License was suspended. Carter was charged with Speeding and Driving While License Suspended. Carter was later released by a notice to appear pending a future branch court date.
