September 4, 2012: Arrest Notices 8/23/12 - 9/1/12

Traffic Arrest(s):

On 08/232012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1100 block of Sheridan Road for Loud Exhaust, Cracked Windshield, and not having a front registration plate displayed on the motor vehicle. The driver, Kasey D. Woodside, 38, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified her Illinois Driver's License was suspended. Woodside was issued citations for No Front Registration Plate, Loud Exhaust, and Driving While License Suspended. Woodside was later released by her signature pending a future branch court date.

On 08/24/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 300 block of Sheridan Road for an equipment violation. The driver, Tina T. Tate, 53, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. A search of Tate's person was conducted by the Officer which resulted in the subsequent seizure of a small amount of cannabis. Tate was issued citations for No Front Registration Plate, Defective Brake Light, No Driver's License on Person, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Tate was later released by her signature pending a future court date.

On 08/25/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1400 block of Sheridan Road for a lane violation. The driver, Daniel Gomez, 20, of Waukegan was subsequently taken into custody for Consumption of Liquor by Minor. After Gomez was transported to the Winthrop Harbor Police Department he was issued citations for Improper Lane Usage and Unlawful Consumption of Liquor by Minor. Gomez was also additionally processed for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol - Zero Tolerance. Gomez was later released by a notice to appear pending a future branch court date.

On 08/312012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 700 block of Sheridan Road for not having any type of motor vehicle registration displayed on the motor vehicle. The driver, Michael E. Shirley, 36, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified his Wisconsin Driver's License was revoked. Shirley was issued citations for No Valid Motor Vehicle Registration, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving While License Revoked. Shirley was later released by his signature pending a future branch court date.

On 09/01/2012, an Officer was dispatched to a hit and run property damage accident in the vicinity of the parking lot at the Tropics Bar and Grill, 301 North Point Drive. The offending vehicle was located and stopped near the intersection of 7th Street and Kirkwood Avenue. The driver, James R. Henry, 53, of Gurnee was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Henry was issued citations for Failure to Signal When Required (Improper), Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over .08. Henry was later released by his Illinois Driver's License and a personal recognizance bond pending a future branch court date. .

Credit Card Fraud:
On 08/25/2012, an Officer was dispatched to the lobby at the Winthrop Harbor Police Department related to a credit card fraud complaint. The complainant advised some unknown person(s) used her credit card without her consent and made an unauthorized transaction in the amount of $53.11 USD to Apple iTunes.

Theft of Bicycle:
On 08/28/2012, an Officer was dispatched to the lobby at Winthrop Harbor Police Department related to a theft of a bicycle. The complainant advised some unknown person(s) took a purple and blue girl's mountain bicycle which had a black bag on the seat with red lettering near the intersection of 7th Street and Sheridan Road. No serial number information was available. The value of the theft was estimated at approximately $200 USD.
