PRESS RELEASE


September 17, 2012: Arrest Notices 9/11/12 - 9/13/12

Traffic Arrest(s):

On 09/11/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 600 block of Sheridan Road for an equipment violation. The driver, Jerome R. Hansen, 28, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified his Illinois Driver's License was suspended. Hansen was issued citations for No Rear Registration Light and Driving While License Suspended. Hansen was later released by his signature pending a future branch court date.

On 09/11/2012, an Officer was dispatched near the intersection of 3rd Street and Thompson Avenue for a report of a property damage accident. The driver, Brigett L. Hammond, 24, of Winthrop Harbor was later located at her place of residence and was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Hammond was issued citations for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, Failure to Report a Property Damage Accident, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Hammond was later released by her signature pending a future court date.

On 09/12/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 400 block of Sheridan Road for Speeding. The driver Mayolo Montes-DeOcaOcampo, 37, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified he didn't have a valid driver's license. Montes-DeOcaOcampo was issued citations for Speeding and No Valid Driver's License. Montes-DeOcaOcampo was later released by his signature pending a future branch court date.

 

 

Criminal Damage to Property:

On 09/13/2012, an Officer was dispatched within the 1300 block of South Park Avenue for a Criminal Damage to Property / Disorderly Conduct Report. The complainant advised some unknown person(s) threw a rock and struck their rear window of their motor vehicle while the motor vehicle was stopped near the intersection of 11th Street and South Park Avenue. This incident is pending further investigation and anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Winthrop Harbor Police Department.
