October 22, 2012: Arrest Notices 10/12/12 - 10/20/12

Traffic Arrest(s):

On 10/12/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 11th Street and Lewis Avenue for Speeding. The driver, Julio A. Rios, 22, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. A search was conducted by the Officer and a clear plastic bag of purported powdered cocaine was found on his person. A search of the motor vehicle was additionally conducted by the Officer and a cannabis smoking pipe was located inside of the motor vehicle. This case was reviewed by the Lake County States Attorney's Office. Rios was issued citations for Speeding, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. Rios was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

On 10/12/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 400 block of Sheridan Road for Speeding. The driver, Israel Espinoza-Sosa, 25, of Waukegan was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified his Illinois Driver's License was revoked. Espinoza-Sosa was issued citations for Speeding, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Driving While License Revoked, Littering, and Obstruction of Justice. The Officer later verified Espinoza-Sosa had an active Lake County Warrant for his arrest. Espinoza-Sosa was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing for the arrest warrant.

On 10/15/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 800 block of Sheridan Road for Speeding. The driver, Alejandro Dominguez-Ayala, 26, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified his Illinois Driver's License was suspended. Dominguez-Ayala was issued citations for Speeding and Driving While License Suspended. Dominguez-Ayala was later released by a notice to appear pending a future branch court date.

On 10/20/2012, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1400 block of Sheridan Road for multiple lane violations. The driver, Autumn M. Martin, 30, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Three small children were additionally inside of the motor vehicle during transport. Martin was issued citations for Improper Lane Usage, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08, and Endangering the Life of a Child. Martin was later released by a notice to appear pending a future court date.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle:

On 10/15/2012, an Officer was dispatch to the lobby at the Winthrop Harbor Police Department related to a burglary to motor vehicle report. The complainant advised some unknown person(s) entered her motor vehicle without her consent and took an Inspiron laptop computer (S/N # 34063730389) which was valued at approximately $759.00. The complainant additionally advised this incident occurred within the 1000 block of Mary Avenue. This incident is pending further investigation.

On 10/19/2012, an Officer was dispatch to the lobby at the Winthrop Harbor Police Department related to a burglary to motor vehicle report. The complainant advised some unknown person(s) entered her motor vehicle without her consent and took a Garmin GPS, cellular telephone charger, and approximately $15.00 in quarters. The complainant additionally advised this incident occurred within the 1000 block of Sheridan Road. This incident is pending further investigation.
