Arrest Notices 2/25/13

Traffic Arrest(s):

On 02/09/2013, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 800 block of College Avenue for a registration violation. The driver, Kelli A. Leonard, 44, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed her Illinois Driver's License was revoked. A search was conducted by the Officer and drug paraphernalia was found within Leonard's person. Leonard was issued citations for Operation of Motor Vehicle while Registration Suspended, Expired Registration, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving While License Revoked. Leonard was later released by a notice to appear pending a future branch court date.

On 02/15/2013, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1300 block of Sheridan Road for a lane violation. The driver, Kenneth A. Harrell,32, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified his Illinois Driver's License was suspended. Harrell was issued citations for Speeding, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Driving While License Suspended. Harrell was later released by a notice to appear pending a future branch court date.

On 02/18/2013, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1400 block of Sheridan Road for sound amplification beyond 75 feet. The driver, Eric E. Lightfoot, 26, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified his Illinois Driver's License was revoked. Lightfoot was issued a citation for Driving While License Revoked. Lightfoot was later released by a notice to appear pending a future branch court date.

Burglary from Motor Vehicle:

On 02/08/2013, an Officer was dispatched within the 1500 block of 3rd Street related to a Burglary to Motor Vehicle complaint. The complainant advised some unknown person(s) entered her unlocked motor vehicle and took an iPhone charger. This incident is pending further investigation.

On 02/14/2013, an Officer was dispatched within the 1400 block of South Park Avenue related to a Burglary to Motor Vehicle complaint. The complainant advised some unknown person(s) entered two unlocked motor vehicles and took a men's platinum wedding band, and miscellaneous change. This incident is pending further investigation.
