Arrest Notices 4/1/13

Traffic Arrest(s):

On 03/29/2013, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 600 block of Sheridan Road for an equipment violation. The driver, Touquir A. Samra, 34, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed his Illinois Driver's License was suspended. Samra was issued citations for No Rear Registration Light, Driving While License, and Obstructing a Peace Officer. Samra was later released by a notice to appear pending a future branch court date.

On 03/30/2013, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 8th Street and Sheridan Road for an equipment violation. The driver, Michael A. Degrazo, 29, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Degrazo was issued citations for Failure to Dim Headlights, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Degrazo was later released by a notice to appear pending a future court date.

On 03/31/2013, an Officer stopped a vehicle within the 1000 block of Lewis Avenue for a lane violation. The driver, Heather M. Crowley, 34, of Beach Park was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Crowley was issued citations for Improper Lane Usage, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Crowley was later released by a notice to appear pending a future court date.

Felony Theft:

On 03/29/2013, Officer's were dispatched within the 1000 block of East Broadway related to a theft of a tail gate report. The complainant advised some unknown person(s) took a tail gate from their pickup truck and a backup camera system. The value of the theft was estimated at approximately $4,500 USC. Later an Officer was advised the stolen items had been returned. Upon further investigation, members of the Winthrop Harbor Police Department subsequently took Colin P. Newbrey, 21, of Zion in custody. Newbrey was issued a citation for felony theft and was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

 

Criminal Damage to Property:

On 03/28/2013, an Officer was dispatched within the 1800 block of Russell Road for a criminal damage to property report involving a recreational motor vehicle. The complainant advised an unknown person(s) attempted to gain entry and observed pry marks and a broken window. This incident is pending further investigation.

On 03/29/2013, an Officer was dispatched within the 1300 block of Monroe Avenue related to a Criminal Damage to Property Report. The complainant advised an unknown person(s) damaged their mailbox. The value of the damage was estimated at approximately $35.00. This incident is pending further investigation.
