Arrest Notices 6/12/13

Traffic Arrest(s):

On 06/05/2013, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of James Court and Roberts Road for a stop sign violation. The driver, Tamika Johnson, 33, of Waukegan was issued citations for Disobeyed a Stop Sign and Driving While License Suspended. Johnson was released on scene by a Notice to Appear pending a future branch court date.

On 06/07/2013, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 4th Street and Wilson Avenue for a Stop Sign violation. The driver, Brenda A. Friery, 21, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer verified her Wisconsin Operator's License had been suspended. Friery was issued citations for Disobeyed a Stop Sign and Driving While License Suspended. Friery was later released by a notice to appear pending a future court date.

On 06/08/2013, an Officer stopped vehicle within the 500 block of Lewis Avenue for not having a front registration plate displayed on the motor vehicle. The driver, Javier Rivera, 46, of Zion was subsequently taken into custody after the Officer confirmed he had a suspended Illinois Driver's License. Rivera was issued a citation for Driving While License Suspended. Rivera was later released by a notice to appear pending a future branch court date.

Delivery of a Controlled Substance:

On 06/09/2013, Members of the Winthrop Harbor Police Department were dispatched upon the request of the Winthrop Harbor Fire Department to the 2700 block of 10th Street related to an 18 year old female that had overdosed on an Illinois Scheduled Prescription Medication named "Adderall." Upon further investigation, Officers learned the residence had been hosting an overnight high school graduation party involving ten 17 and 18 year old subjects. A search was conducted by the Officers which resulted in the subsequent seizure of four bottles of hard liquor, cannabis, Hydrocodone Pill, and cannabis smoking paraphernalia. Interviews were later conducted and additional subjects advised they also were provided and digested Adderall. Members of the Winthrop Harbor Fire Department conducted a safety check of all subjects and later had been released to their parents. Officers later identified the subject, Corey M. Kaneko, 18, of Winthrop Harbor who advised he had provided several subjects with Adderall and Hydrocodone during the high school graduation party. This case was later reviewed by the Lake County States Attorney's Office and Kaneko was charged for Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Class 3 Felony). Kaneko was later transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing. The homeowner, Monika R. Sukowski, 51, of Winthrop Harbor was issued a local ordinance violation citation for Local Hosting.
