Arrest Notices 6/25/13

Traffic Arrest(s):

On 06/15/2013, an Officer was dispatched near the intersection of 9th Street and Kenosha Road related to a motor vehicle property damage accident. The driver, Christopher D. Ball, 21, of Winthrop Harbor was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Ball was issued citations for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Ball was later released by a Notice to Appear pending a future court date.

On 06/20/2013, an Officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 13th Street and Fulton Avenue for a stop sign violation. The driver, Patrick J. Kennedy, 34, of Louisville, Kentucky was subsequently taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Kennedy was issued citations for Disobeyed a Stop Sign, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over 0.08. Kennedy was later released by a Notice to Appear pending a future court date.

In-State Warrant:

On 06/24/2013 Officers made contact with a subject, Tonya L. Grasty, 24, of Winthrop Harbor, related to a warrant service within the 1800 block of 12th Street. After warrant confirmation was made with the Lake County Sheriff's Department, Grasty was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail pending a bond hearing.

Residential Burglary:

On 06/19/2013, members of the Winthrop Harbor Police Department were dispatched within the 2700 block of 10 Street related to a report of a residential burglary. Upon Officer's arrival; forced entry was observed to the front door of the residence. The complainant advised miscellaneous jewelry had been taken to include a wedding band. The scene had been processed by evidence technicians and this incident is pending further investigation.

On 06/20/2013, members of the Winthrop Harbor Police Department were dispatched within the 1300 block of Aiken Court related to a report of a residential burglary. Upon Officer's arrival; no forced entry had been observed. The complaint advised two Movado watches and a gold Bulova pocket watch were taken. The scene had been processed by evidence technicians and this incident is pending further investigation.
