Requirements for Contruction
of Decks/Patios
1. Two (2) sets of constructions
drawings for ALL construction in Residential area must be submitted
at time of application for permit.
2. Two (2) sets of constructions
drawings for ALL construction in Business area must be submitted
at time of application for permit.
3. A request for inspection to
the Building Department (847-872-3846) must be made 24 hours
in advance at the following HOLD POINTS:
- a. Deck Post Holes (42"
minimum)
- b. Deck Framing
- c. Deck Final
4. Upon approved final inspection,
a Certificate of Compliance and Occupancy Permit will be issued,
signed by the Township Assessor and Village Building Inspector.
Final inspections must be received by our office no later that
72 hours prior to closing.
5. Do not occupy the new deck/patio
structure or portion of the structure before you have received
an occupancy permit. (Ref. W.H. Zoning Ord. 10.5)*
6. It is the Builders responsibility
that all inspections are called for and NO OCCUPANCY takes place
without final inspection.
7. It will be necessary for you
to fill out the New Construction Information Sheet that refers
to all applicable contractors involved with the new deck/patio
construction.
*(Ref. Article 154.999, W.H. Zoning Ordinance) A person who violates,
disobeys, omits, neglects or refuses to comply with or resists
the enforcement of any of the provisions of this ordinance shall
be fined not less that $25 no more than $500. Each day such violation
or failure to comply is permitted to exist after notification
thereof, shall constitute a separate
