Requirements for Construction

Shed / Accessory Buildings

The following items shall be requirements for the construction of all accessory buildings in the Village of Winthrop Harbor:

1. Concrete floor, minimum 4" of concrete on minimum 4" of crushed stone, sand or gravel. (SBOC 315.B1)

2. No part of any accessory building shall be located closer than 3 feet from any side or rear property line, nor closer than 10 feet from any main building, unless attached and a part of such main building. See Winthrop Harbor Zoning Ordinance, Section 4.9

3. It shall be the owner's responsibility to ensure that no part of any accessory building shall be built on a utility easement.

4. If property is located on a corner, please contact Building Inspector for requirements.
