Winthrop Harbor is a family-friendly community
with several beautiful parks and plenty of recreation activities!
Our Schlader Recreation Center is the hub
of activities for the Village, with over 20,000 square feet of
indoor space available for year-round activities. Located at
38-Acre Park on 9th Street, the Schlader
Recreation Center includes ample parking for events of all types.
38-Acre Park boasts plenty of open parkland
for family get-togethers, picnics, etcteras. A beautiful covered
Gazebo with picnic tables is nestled beside a pond, with another
near the main play-park area. Several baseball/softball diamonds
are available, with ample lighting for evening games. Tennis
courts and basketball courts are also available.
For those of you who enjoy skate boarding,
you'll love our Skate Park, located just East of
the Schlader Recreation Center. The Skate Park includes a wide
array of ramps in a fully paved, enclosed and well-lit area.
(An annual Skate Park fee applies and the Recreation Dept. issues
a photo-ID card to all participants.)
